Learning to make bread is all about having fun, the course aim is to give you an understanding of the art of breadmaking and the skills and confidence for you to become a home baker. Breadmaking courses are run by Harvest who was born at Little Salkeld watermill and has spent nearly 40 years of her life surrounded by bread and Milling. Dave who spent 14 years as a traditional miller and has always had a passion for home baking. Rather than stick to a rigid plan we will tailor the course to the participants so you learn to make the bread you want to eat whether this be the traditional farmhouse loaf, fancy plaits, flat breads Foccaia, Pittas or bagels for instance. Its all about you learning that bread making is simple and fun and easy to fit into a busy modern life. A course will typically last for 3 hours and then finish with a lunch of homemade soup, local cheeses, home-baked cake and of course some of the fresh bread you have made. The courses are run in our own family kitchen and around the farmhouse table. Cost: courses typically run during the winter months for a minimum of two people and cost £55 per head. |
