Adventures in the Hills

Whether you want to have an evening's exploration with your family, take a walk under starry skies or go along the Scottish  border and to the summit of Cheviot, we can make your adventure come true. Dave is a trained and experienced Mountain Leader as well as being a member of the Mountain Rescue Team who will help you to achieve your own goals, and act as a guide for you so you can be confident to go that little bit further in the beautiful Northumbrian Hills. As well as the activities below Dave can also be booked as a guide for your own adventure, adding experience and knowledge to great day out.

Family Magic Rucksack Adventure
Take the map and the magic rucksack and join us on a 2-3 hour family adventure suitable for 6-12 year olds (parents must accompany). We will learn some simple map reading skills, then map in hand, the children will lead the adventure and take to the hills. As the magic rucksack fills up you will acquire all we need for a mouthwatering treat before your safe return. Parents please note its the children who do the map reading, so let's hope we don’t get lost!

Cost: £75 per family.

Magnificent Mountain Sunsets and Awesome Dark skies.
Imagine watching the sunset whilst being up in the Cheviot Hills, then returning in the twilight as stars begin to come out and the warm glow of lights appear in the houses below us. Sunset walks can be tailored to individual fitness levels. If the skies are clear then we will be rewarded towards the end of our journey with incredible dark skies full of thousands of stars and we will stay a while to gaze in amazement.

Cost: £55 per adult/£95 for family group.
Refreshments provided; typically 3-4 hours.

Hill Safety and Navigation
Your opportunity to learn the art of safe and easy navigation off the beaten track so you will never need to be worried about getting lost again. Whether you have some skills already and just want to develop and enhance these or you don’t know one end of a compass from the other, we can tailor your course to your needs.

Of course its not all about grid references and compass bearings as this is very much a getting out there and experiencing navigation first hand so we will be journeying through some spectacular Northumbrian landscapes, discovering some of its beauty and secrets.

Dark skies and night navigation also available.
